Julia Coward

Today we highlight our fabulous Toddler class lead teacher, Miss Julia. We were blessed to add Julia to our team in the spring of 2018 as our Toddler class began to grow with happy, new babies.  Julia loves to do art with the babies! Julia is a 2016 graduate of Taylor High School and has received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. She currently attend Texas Womans University where she is finishing her Bachelor Degree. She hopes to teach Pre-K or Kindergarten with a specialization in deaf education. She has worked in the nursery for the past several years right here at First United Methodist and has been a member of FUMC for many years. We are so blessed that Julia joined our team! Thank you, Julia, for loving our sweet babies and toddlers at FUMC!

Church Work Days

Be sure to join us this Friday, 4/27, and Saturday, 4/28, for our Church Clean-Up and Work Days. There’s much to be done around the church, that we need your helping and working hands. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, come on over and help out. Bring gloves,  hedger or whatever you’d use to prune flower beds and yards. You can also help out inside of the church with whatever you think needs clean-up! #Teamwork #FUMCTaylor

Toddler Teacher
Brenda Shelton

Our wonderful Miss Brenda is such a special blessing to our school! She loves the little friends in her class and is always prepared with the best activities to meet the individual needs of each child in the Two Year Old Class. Brenda was born and lived in Austin most of her life, but she now lives in Elgin with her daughter, Alyssa, who she adopted at the age of two. Brenda was a foster mom to 25 children during her eleven years as a foster parent with the State of Texas. Before becoming a teacher here at FUMC, Brenda worked for the University of Texas Utilities and retired after 35 years. Brenda has also taught Sunday School for 35 years and is a member of Grace Community Baptist Church in Elgin. Brenda is a hard worker, and a dedicated, patient, and loving teacher. Thank you, Miss Brenda for all the love you share with our youngest friends at FUMC!

Challenge

The Gospel of Jesus will continue to be told.
The question is, will you be a part of that storytelling
by being a first-person life and heart witness to the risen Christ?
Can your life become a living witness for Jesus?

How have you been a witness this week?
