What a Spirit-filled week it’s been at First Taylor! On Pentecost Sunday, we celebrated the birth of the Church—not with candles and cake, but with wind and fire. We remembered that the Holy Spirit didn’t come to make us comfortable but to make us courageous. The Church was ignited at Pentecost not to stay safe behind closed doors but to move boldly into the world with love, truth, and power.
This week, I saw that fire burning among you. From the energy and teamwork that went into the rummage sale—led with such dedication by Maureen and Claudene—to the incredible hospitality shown at last week’s fish fry by the Beckermann family and all who helped, this church is alive and glowing with Spirit-led service.

But the fire of Pentecost isn’t meant to stay inside our church walls. We are called to carry it with us—to our homes, our workplaces, our schools, and our neighborhoods. The world needs the warmth, light, and hope that only Spirit-filled people can offer.

As we carry that flame forward, I invite you to join us this coming Sunday as we celebrate Father’s Day and Trinity Sunday. We all have a father—whether on earth or in heaven—and we give thanks and glory to God, the Father. Last week, we honored the Holy Spirit, the Third Person; this Sunday, we rejoice in the mystery and majesty of the Triune God.

Come worship with us. Come celebrate. Come be renewed.

Come, Holy Spirit. Fall on us. Fill us. Send us.
