Confirmation Corner

Confirmation is an ancient rite of the church which has been practiced since the early centuries of the Church’s existence. The word “confirmation” literally means “to make firm.” As a rite in the Christian faith, confirmation is the time and place where we acknowledge that a child has reached the age when he or she can begin to assume responsibility for his or her own faith. Here at FUMC Taylor, our confirmands are provided with the setting and opportunity to acknowledge this change and to make a commitment to Jesus Christ and the Church. This Confirmation experience will be a special time of spiritual development in your child’s life.

Our confirmation class is usually held during Spring.

This 2017 confirmation class will start April 2 and will run until May 28, 2017.  There will be no class on Easter Sunday. The times will be Sunday afternoon from 4 – 6:00 p.m. Confirmation Class will be led by Tylor Cavender. To register, the sign-up sheet is available in the narthex on Sundays, or you may also email or call the office.

If you are available to mentor a confirmand, please let Tylor Cavender and or the pastor know.
