Job Title: Director of Youth Ministry
Reports To: Pastor
Part-time position not to exceed 20 hrs/week
Compensation: Based on Experience and Qualifications
Overview:
First United Methodist Church of Taylor, Texas seeks an energetic, enthusiastic person with a passion and gift for ministering to young persons 6th-12th grade. This position is responsible for facilitating, coordinating, developing, administering, and leading a youth program which includes instruction/discipleship, service/mission, fellowship, worship, and fundraising.
Requirements:
Prior experience in youth ministry as an adult leader preferred.
Understanding of United Methodist Theology preferred or willingness to learn.
Must pass background check.
Must complete and pass Ministry Safe training.
Minimum Duties:
Attend Sunday Worship service(s) with a focus on encouraging and facilitating youth participation in worship.
Plan and lead Sunday School youth classes.
Plan and lead weekly youth gatherings (Sunday evening and/or midweek) which includes Bible Study, fellowship, and other activities.
Attend youth’s sporting or extra-curricular events when possible.
Recruit, train, and utilize adult volunteers to aid in planning and implementing youth ministry goals.
Encourage and facilitate youth participation in church wide ministries/events.
Comply with Ministry Safe at all times.
Attend Staff and church meetings when requested.
Plan and facilitate special youth events, such as missional outreach, fundraising, camps, etc.
Work together with clergy, staff, parents of youth and church leaders to implement the vision of the church.

Job Overview:
The Mother’s Day Out Director will provide excellent and positive experiences that support the mission of First United Methodist Church. The Director is responsible for leading, organizing, developing, directing, coordinating, monitoring and programing all aspects of the Mother’s Day Out Ministry (MDO), consistent with Christian education and integrates and provides unity of the mission of First United Methodist Church. The Director is to ensure that the program provides a safe and inviting environment for young children to learn basic skills, gain knowledge of Jesus Christ and to facilitate a bridge between the school’s families and First United Methodist Church.
